Jo's Food hunting series Pt.1
Despite being someone who's very choosy, I'm actually a sucker for good food. Anything and everything that taste good to my tongue can make my day. Thus, after waiting for a whole 3 months of lockdown to be over, the first thing I did was to go on a food hunting. If you are a Penangite, you should know what food hunting is. It isn't always about extraordinary or luxurious cafes but anywhere that can serve as good food. It can even be a hawker stall by the road.
We left the house at 9am, it took us 15 minutes to reach the island.
First stop:
Khen Ping Cafe, Georgetown
I took Wan Tan Mee, Char Kuey Teow and Hokkien Mee. Overall, the food was 9/10 for a very reasonable price. It is a highly recommended place to go.
Second stop:
Five Star Fried Chicken, Lebuh Canon
Being someone who would love anything and everything that is fried, I truly enjoyed my stop. Although it's a little pricy, it is worth trying the juicy fried chicken and their special hotdog snacks. I would give a 7/10 for this stop.
Third stop:
Fruitmade, Lebuh Canon
This is my always go to place when it comes to fresh desserts. Their desserts are always the one thing we would need in a sunny weather. I would give 8/10 for this stop.
Fourth Stop:
Ais Tingkap, Penang Road
The ais tingkap was okay, it was not something that was extraordinary but something fresh and sweet to try on a sunny day. I would rate it a 5/10/
Fifth stop:
Penang Air Itam Laksa
The bad choice we made in our series, the laksa was really bad but that's okay. Nothing comes without a trial and error. This place is not recommended to go and I would only give a 2/10 for this stop. It used to taste really good back then though.
Sixth Stop:
Roti Canai, Gemas
After many friends recommending this place, I gave it a shot and it was really yummy with lots of curry and their signature chicken. I would highly recommend this place and would rate it a 8/10.
