BRUNEI TRADITIONAL FOOD : AMBUYAT

 SINCE I AM A BRUNEIAN PEOPLE AT SABAH, I WILL TALK ABOUT MY TRADITION.

WELL AS FROM THE WIKIPEDIA THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF THE FOOD NAMED "AMBUYAT" IT SAYS THAT

"Ambuyat is a dish derived from the interior trunk of the sago palm. It is a starchy bland substance, similar to tapioca starch. Ambuyat is the national dish of Brunei ^] and a local specialty in the Malaysian states of Sarawak, Sabah, and the federal territory of Labuan, where it is sometimes known as linut.

Ambuyat is eaten with a bamboo fork called a chandas, by rolling the starch around the prongs and then dipping it into a sauce, of which there are many varieties."

From this picture that I took, our family member will have a feast on the every weekend. But since this COVID-19 pandemic, we just having it like twice a month because we all apart from the others.

Actually ambuyat will not taste delicious if did not dip it with the spicy hand made sauce that from the fruit named "bambangan", mango and fruit we called as "Ampalam". Also, we will having other meal such as Sour Fish soup, "tuntul rebus" and vegetables that made from banana's tree. 

FROM the article you see the word " chandas" right ?? So, this is it, The chandas. Actually , we use it as an equipment for us ...cheehhh ..equipment.. HAHAHA actually it is similar to the chop stick but the end of it is joined. 

For the beginners, it will be hard for them to use to eat the ambuyat because before we eat, we have to ....recite or Doaa..HAhah baru orang kata lancarr..HAHAHA just kiddig. actually we have to twist the ambuyat like this 

My first experience since eating this is when I was a kid. For the first time I eat it, I want to vomit and quickly drink the water because yeah the ambuyat are sticky some times in your mouth that makes me hard to swallow it. 

AND my advisee!! don't eat while it's still in hot condition because it will burn your stomach. HAHAHAHA which will makes your face funny for people to see..😁😁
